“THRILLER” GOES FOR A CAT SCAN!!!
On Tuesday Sept. 15, 2009 The Shambala Preserve Animal Staff brought tigress “Thriller” to the Animal Surgery & Emergency Center in West Los Angeles for a CT scan to diagnose a strange swelling of the right side of her neck.
Trudy Farley, Jesus Torres, Rebecca Brown and I stood watch over the magnificent tigress “Thriller” as she progressed through the several medical procedures.
Veterinarians, Jon Bernstein, D.V.M. serving the Wild Ones of Shambala since 1971, and Mary Somerville, D.V.M. worked together to determine the cause of the swelling. The most important diagnosis was that there was nothing life threatening, nothing to inhibit her tiger lifestyle.

We left the emergency center after 3 hours of witnessing the brilliant care of the magnificent tigress “Thriller”.

She is up, communicating with Sabu, her mate from birth and the staff who care for her. We at The Shambala Preserve have a great degree of love and care for these powerful beings. They are one of the most powerful and dangerous apex predators on our Planet, yet there are huge numbers of humans who believe in the desire that they be “pets” or to be used for financial gain.

We at Shambala are those who rescue these Wild Beings, these innocent, magnificent, perfect killers from unconscionable and desperate situations.

Everyone at the Animal Surgery & Emergency Center was fascinated with this awesome creature, a tigress named “Thriller”, who often gazed into the eyes of the late Michael Jackson while she lived at his “Neverland”.

Thriller and Sabu have lived with us since 2006.

With love and caring for them and the Wild Ones of Shambala,
